Students in the Honors Institute are part of the larger community of Belmont Abbey
College, which is comprised of monks, teachers, administrators, staff, and students. Honors Institute students share in the opportunities and responsibilities of the Abbey’s student body. They are frequently involved in campus ministry, student journalism, club activities, and intercollegiate athletics.
As is the case for Belmont Abbey College students in general, the graduation requirement is 120 credits. Honors Institute students select a major (at some time prior to their junior year) and are required to fulfill a 48-credit Honors Institute curriculum along with 20 credits in the College’s core curriculum.
AP credits are applicable to the College’s graduation requirement and can help to fulfill some of the College’s core curriculum for Honors Institute students.
